Our study examines whether the Big Bang theory is compatible with the creation narratives found in theistic religions. The Big Bang theory posits that the universe had a beginning and that it emerged from a singular point through a massive explosion. Theistic religions propose a model of the universe created by a divine being. This study first outlines the fundamental features of the Big Bang theory. Subsequently, the sacred texts of theistic religions are analyzed to present their doctrines of creation, and finally, the compatibility between the Big Bang theory, creation narratives, and conceptions of God in theistic traditions is evaluated. The motivation behind choosing this topic stems from the insufficiency of informational satisfaction I encountered during my personal explorations on the subject. This led me to believe that the issue warrants a more thorough and comprehensive investigation. As a result, I decided to approach it from a comparative perspective. The primary aim of this research is to address the lack of comparative analysis within existing literature. A qualitative research method was employed in this study, and data were collected through historical documentation techniques. During the research process, the creation-related passages in the Bible and the Qur’ān were identified and compared. In addition, scholarly articles and books relevant to the topic were reviewed. This study seeks to offer insights from the perspective of the Big Bang theory for researchers interested in the relationship between religion and science. It also explores how, according to Christianity and Islam, the universe came into existence and what processes the universe underwent during this emergence. In this context, the extent to which these religions align or diverge from modern scientific frameworks is also examined. The findings of our research clearly demonstrate that these theistic accounts correspond with the Big Bang theory.. The universe’s origin from a singular point, its continuous expansion, and its emergence from a hydrogen-based structure are among the notable parallels. Another significant aspect to consider is the limited scientific knowledge available at the time these scriptures were written. Despite this limitation, the presence of descriptions in sacred texts that resemble the general framework of contemporary cosmological theories is a matter of considerable philosophical interest.
